The Gospel From the Catholic Bible
Some QUESTIONS FOR THE CATHOLIC:
1. Are you afraid to think of yourself? Your eternity?
2. Don’t you want to know more about God?
3. Do you feel guilty of sin at times?
4. Do you fear death at times?
5. Do you have perfect assurance that you would go to heaven if you die today?
6. Are you afraid to pray and ask God to reveal to you the truth through His Word?
7. Will you be honest in accepting the truth as God’s Word as it comes from the Catholic Bible?
8. If you are convinced of error, will you accept the truth?
9. Will you accept the Catholic Bible above the traditions of men? How can you know which of the two are right if one contradicts the other?
SCRIPTURES FROM THE CATHOLIC BIBLE: In the book “A Catechism for Inquirers,” by Rev. Joseph I. Malloy printed by the Pauline Press, we have a statement that obligates the Catholic to accept his Bible as the inspired Word of God. On page one the question is asked, “What is the Bible?” The answer reads, “The Bible or the Holy Scriptures is a collection of books all written under the inspiration of God.” Let us look at what the Scripture says from the Roman Catholic Confraternity Bible, and what it teaches us. all bold and capatilized verses below are from the catholic confraternity bible.
1. WHY True Christians DO NOT BELIEVE IN The Confession Booth:
HEBREWS 4:14-16 “Having therefore a great high priest who has passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we have not a high priest who cannot have compassion on our infirmities, but one tried as we are in all things except sin. Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
The throne of grace is not mary, for she sits on no throne and is not god.
EPHESIANS 2:8-9 “For by grace have you been saved through faith; and that not from yourselves, for it is the gift of God; not as the outcome of works, lest anyone may boast.”
Romans 4:5 “But to him who does not work, but believes in him who justifies the impious, his faith is credited to him as justice.”
Sripture does not teach the confession booth. A tremendous book, call “the priest, the woman, and the confessional” which I hope to have available on this site one day answers all possible questions in detail and gives documentation of why it is an unholy thing. True confession of sin before god, brings peace of mind and soul, relief and deliverance from the sin. Auricular confession in the confession booth cannot bring peace, but only adds to the sin and guilt being confessed, rather than bringing freedom from sin and its affect on our lives. Confession of sins to the priest was instituted by Pope Innocent III in 1215. Even the Roman Catholic church didn’t believe in it or do this until that time. If the church didn’t need it or accept ti for 1200 years, why now? God’s Word and requirement never changes because God never changes. Malachi 3:6 says; “For I am the LORD, I change not.” Hebrews 13:8 says of Jesus; “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” David wrote by inspiration: “For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven” (Psalm 119:89). This principle applies and remains true for all doctrines we will show added hundreds and thousands of years after Christ and His Apostles.
2. Why True Christians do not believe in Mary Worship: (the Veneration, respect and honor given amounts to worship)
Some dictionary definistions for worship are: “1.a. The reverent love and devotion accorded a deity, an idol, or a sacred object. b. The ceremonies, prayers, or other religious forms by which this love is expressed. 2. Ardent devotion; adoration. 3. To honor and love as a deity. 4. To regard with ardent or adoring esteem or devotion.”
1 TIMOTHY 2:5 “For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and Men, himself man, Christ Jesus.”
So how can Mary be the Mediatrix? Even Mary confessed: “And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.” (Luke 1:46-47)
John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but through me.” Again, there is simple no other way to the Father!
Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other. For there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”
John 5:39-40 “You search the Scriptures because in them you think that you have life everlasting. And it is they that bear witness of me, yet you are not willing to come to me that you may have life.”
These three verses leave no place or room for praying to mary in any form or fashion. She did not go to the cross for your sins. She did not shed her blood for you. Romans 3:23 tells us “For ALL have sinned…” and Mary was no different. Only Jesus is spoken of as “without sin” in scripture. Read the short testimony “A Gift for you” by father charles Chiniquy, and note the conversation between him and Bishop Prince, the coadjutor and the question he asks that the bishop cannot answer. many was but a human vessel used to bring christ into the world. she had to look to him for her own salvation, as all other men who will be saved. Prayer to Mary and dead saints began in 600 and the use of crosses, images and relics began in 788.
3. WHY True Christians DO NOT BELIEVE IN Her Perpetual Virginity:
MATTHEW 1:24-25 “So Joseph, arising from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him, and took unto him his wife. And he did not know her till she brought forth her firstborn son. And he called his name Jesus.”
If Joseph had not had sexual relations with Mary, the the following verses could not be true! It is ludicrous to say that a woman who has had several children is still a VIRGIN. Jesus was the only virgin birth in all human history. The doctrine of the immaculate conception of Mary was instituted by Pope Pius IX in 1854, nearly two centuries after Christ. Why didn’t the church believe this before if it was truth? Wait does the scripture say?
Mark 6:3 “Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, Joseph, Jude, and Simon? And are not also his sisters here with us? And they took offense at him.”
GALATIANS 1:19 “But I saw none of the other apostles, except James, the brother of the Lord.”
John 7:3,5 “His brethren therefore said to him, Leave here and go into Judea that thy disciples also may see the works that thou dost. . . For not even his brethren believed in him.”
4. Why true Christians do not believe in Obligatory Celibacy:
1 TIMOTHY 3:2-4 “A bishop then, must be blameless, married but once, reserved, prudent, of good conduct, hospitable, a teacher. . He should rule well his own household, keeping children under control and perfectly respectful.”
How can one fulfill these requirements without being married? And more, please not that Paul said by the Holy Spirit that those doctrines that forbid marriage are of the DEVIL and not God! This is scripture, God’s Holy Word! Celibacy for the Priesthood was instituted by Pope Hildebrand in 1079.
1 TIMOTHY 4:1,3 “Now the Spirit expressly says that in after times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceitful spirits and doctrines of devils. . . they will forbid marriage.”
Will we believe God or Man? Scripture tells us that when there is a conflict between the two; “let God be true, but every man a liar.” (Romans 3:4)
MATTHEW 8:14 “And when Jesus had come into Peter’s house, he saw Peter’s mother-and-law lying in bed, sick with a fever.”
5. Why Christians do not believe in Image Worship:
EXODUS 20:3-5 “Thou shalt not have strange gods before me. Thou shalt not make to thyself a graven thing, nor the likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath nor of those things that are in the waters under the earth. Thou shalt not adore them, nor serve them.”
That is plain English, and there are many scriptures like it that could fill pages. Deuteronomy 7:25 says; “The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God.” Psalm 97:7 “Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.” In Jeremiah 8:19 God said, “Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images, and with strange vanities?” Leviticus 19:4 “Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God.” Graven images, idols, molten gods are all one and the same thing! There are some 900 verses on this issue.
6. Why True Christians do not believe in Salvation by Works:
2 TIMOTHY 1:9 “He has redeemed us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and the grace which was granted to us in Christ Jesus before this world existed.”
ROMANS 11:6 “And if out of grace, then not in virtue of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace.”
ROMANS 4:5 “But to him who does not work, but believes in him who justifies the impious, his faith is credited to him as justice.”
John 6:47 “Amen, amen, I say to you, he who believes in me has life everlasting.”
Acts 16:31 “And they said, Believe in the Lord Jesus, and thou shalt be saved, and thy household.”
Acts 13:39 “And in him everyone who believes is acquitted of all the things of which you could not be acquitted by the Law of Moses.”
It is still “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost” (Titus 3:5).
7. Why True Christians do not believe in Purgatory:
2 CorINTHIANS 5:8 “We even have the courage to prefer to be exiled from the body and to be at home with the Lord.”
PhilIPPIANS 1:23-24 “Indeed I am hard pressed from both sides - desiring to depart and to be with Christ, a lot by far better. Yet to stay on in the flesh is necessary for your sake.”
MATTHEW 18:8 “And if thy hand or thy foot is an occasion of sin to thee, cut it off and cast it from thee! It is better for thee to enter life maimed or lame, than, having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire.”
MATTHEW 25:46 “And these will go into everlasting punishment, but the just into everlasting life.”
Mark 9:43-44 “Where their worm dies not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thy foot is an occasion of sin to thee, cut it off! It is better for thee to enter into life everlasting lame, than, having two feet, to be cast into the hell of unquenchable fire.”
Luke 13:24-25 “Strive to enter by the narrow gate; for many I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. But when the master of the house has entered and shut the door, you will begin to stand outside and knock at the door saying, ‘Lord, open for us!’ And he shall say to you in answer, ‘I do not know where you are fROMANS ”
2 ThessALONIANS 1:9 “These will be punished with eternal ruin, away from the face of the Lord and the glory of his power.”
Apocalypse 20:9,10,15 “And fire from God came down out of heaven and devoured them. And the devil who deceived them was cast into the pool of fire and brimstone, where are also the beast, and the false prophet; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. And if anyone was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the pool of fire.”
Luke 16:22-26 “And it came to pass that the poor man died and was borne away by the angels into Abraham’s bosom; but the rich man also died and was buried in hell. And lifting up his eyes, being in torments, he saw Abraham afar off and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried out and said. ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me, and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am tormented in this flame.’ But Abraham said to him, ‘Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime hast received good things, and Lazarus in like manner evil things; but now here he is comforted whereas thou art tormented. And besides all that, between us and you a great gulf is fixed, so that they who wish to pass over from this side to you cannot, and they cannot cross from your side to us.”
The Dogma of faith concerning purgatory was issued by the Council of Florence in 1439. Yet the Apocrapha books were not added to the Catholic scriptures until the Council of Trent in 1645. Odd isn’t it? All scriptures speaks of only two places and choices. The Apocrapha from which the doctrine of Purgatory comes is contrary to the rest of scriptural teaching and is why we do not accept it as scripture. God cannot contradict Himself and His Word still be PURE and reliable. The Apocrapha are the only books that have ‘revelations’ outside the rest of scripture and things that are contrary to the rest of scripture and therefore do not fit into the perfect harmony of scripture. They are useful as historical writings, but are not inspired scriptures. All inspired scriptures were written by Old Testament Prophets and New Testament Apostles, of which the writers of the Apocrypha are not! 2Peter 3:2 “That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour.” Ephesians 2:20 “And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;”
8. Why True Christians do not believe in Limbo:
According to the dictionary, here is the history of the word limbo: “Our use of the word limbo to refer to states of oblivion, confinement, or transition is derived from the theological sense of Limbo as a place where souls remain that cannot enter heaven, for example, unbaptized infants. Limbo in Roman Catholic theology is located on the border of Hell, which explains the name chosen for it. The Latin word limbus, having meanings such as “an ornamental border to a fringe” and “a band or girdle,” was chosen by Catholic theologians of the Middle Ages to denote this border region. English borrowed the word limbus directly, but the form limbo that caught on in English, first recorded in a work composed around 1378, is from the ablative form of limbus, the form that would be used in expressions such as in limb½, “in Limbo.”” The definition for limbo is: “Theology. The abode of just or innocent souls excluded from the beatific vision but not condemned to further punishment.” That only applies to Roman Catholic Theology! No one else accepts this theology.
MATTHEW 19:13-14 “Little children were brought to him then that he might lay his hands on them and pray; but the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said to them, ‘Let the little children be, and do not hinder them from coming to me, for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
MATTHEW 18:3 “Amen I say to you, unless you turn and become like little children, you will not enter into the kingdom of heaven.”
9. Why True Christians do not believe in Traditions Above the Bible:
Mark 7:13 “You make void the commandment of God by your tradition, which you have handed down; and many such-like things you do.”
Isaiah 8:20 “To the law rather, and to the testimony. And if they speak not according to this word, they shall not have the morning light.”
John 5:39-40 “You search the Scriptures because in them you think that you have life everlasting. And it is they that bear witness of me, yet you are not willing to come to me that you may have life.”
2 TIMOTHY 3:15-16 “For from thy infancy thou hast known the Sacred Writings, which are able to instruct thee unto salvation by the faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, for reproving, for correcting, for instructing in justice.”
2 PetER 1:20-21 “This then, you must understand first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is made by private interpretation.”
Mark 7:5-9 “So the Pharisees and the scribes asked him, ‘Why do not thy disciples walk according to the tradition of the ancients, instead of eating bread with defiled hands?’ But answering he said to them, ‘Well did Isaias prophesy of you hypocrites as it is written, This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; and in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrine the precepts of men. For, letting to the commandment of God, you hold fast the tradition of men, the washing of pots and of cups; and many other things you do like to these.’ And he said to them, ‘Well do you nullify the commandment of God that you may keep your own tradition.’”
Tradition is not infallible scripture and is not the same as God’s Holy Word! The Council of Trent in 1545 exalted tradition to be equal in authority to the Word of God. Neither God nor His Word has ever changed. So why does th Catholic Church keep inventing new doctrines? Think about it!
10. Why True Christians do not believe in Combining of Church and State:
MATTHEW 26:52 “Then Jesus said to him, ‘Put thy sword into its place! for all those who take the sword will perish by the sword.”
MATTHEW 22:17-21 “Tell us therefore, what dost thou think; Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar of not?’ But Jesus, knowing their wickedness said, ‘Why do you test me, you hypocrites? Show me the coin of the tribute.’ So they offered him a denarius. Then Jesus said to them, ‘Whose are the image and the inscription?’ They said to him, ‘Caesar’s. Then he said them, ‘Render, therefore, to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”
1 PetER 2:13-14 “Be subject to every human creature for God’s sake, whether to the king as supreme, or to governors as sent through him for vengeance on evildoers and for the praise of good.”
ROMANS 13:5-7 “Wherefore you must needs be subject , not only because of the wrath, but also for conscience’ sake. For this is also why you pay tribute, for they are the ministers of God, serving unto this very end. Render to all men whatever is their due; tribute to whom tribute is due, taxes to whom taxes are due; fear to whom fear is due; honor to whom honor is due.”
2 CorINTHIANS 10:3-4 “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not make war according to the flesh; for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but powerful before God to the demolishing of strongholds, the destroying of reasoning.”
COMING TO A decision:
1) Do you RECOGNIZE THE FACT THAT THERE IS SIN IN your lIFE, THAT you ARE A SINNER IN NEED FOR FORGIVENESS AND SALVATION. “IF WE SAY THAT WE HAVE NO SIN, WE DECEIVE OURSELVES, AND THE TRUTH IS NOT IN US. IF WE ACKNOWLEDGE OUR SINS, HE IS FAITHFUL AND JUST TO FORGIVE US OUR SINS AND TO CLEANSE US FROM ALL INIQUITY.” 1 JOHN 1:8-9
2) Do you see THE NEED FOR REPENTANCE AND BEING SORROWFUL FOR your SINS? “FOR THE SORROW THAT IS ACCORDING TO GOD PRODUCES REPENTANCE THAT SURELY TENDS TO SALVATION, WHEREAS THE SORROW THAT IS ACCORDING TO THE WORLD PRODUCES DEATH.” 2 COR. 7:10 “REPENT THEREFORE AND BE CONVERTED, THAT YOUR SINS MAY BE BLOTTED OUT.” ACTS 3:19
3) THE CONFESSION OF SIN. Are you WILLING TO ASK GOD TO FORGIVE you OF your SINS. YOU MUST make your CONFESSION OF SIN TO THE FATHER. OF COURSE, AFTER you are SAVED, IF you PERSONALLY FEEL IT NECESSARY TO MAKE INDIVIDUAL CONFESSIONS TO OTHER PERSONS WRONGED, THAT IS GOOD. You SHOULD FEEL THE NEED TO MAKE RESTITUTION AND TO FREELY MAKE CONFESSION OF SINS TO FRIENDS AND LOVED ONES; HOWEVER, your INITIAL REPENTANCE MUST BE TO GOD ALONE, BECAUSE ONE SINFUL MAN CANNOT FORGIVE ANOTHERS’ SIN. “FOR IF THOU CONFESS WITH THY MOUTH THAT JESUS IS THE LORD, AND BELIEVE IN THY HEART THAT GOD HAS RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD, THOU SHALT BE SAVED.” ROMANS 10:9 “BUT IF ANYONE SINS, WE HAVE AN ADVOCATE WITH THE FATHER, JESUS CHRIST THE JUST; AND HE IS THE PROPITIATION FOR OUT SINS, NOT FOR OURS ONLY BUT ALSO FOR THOSE OF THE WHOLE WORLD.” 1 JOHN 2:1-2
4) AFTER you REPENT OF PAST SINS, there is the necessity of PUTTING AWAY OF present SINS. TRUE REPENTANCE INVOLVES not only A TURNING AWAY FROM PAST SINS, but a decision NOT TO WALK IN THEM ANYMORE. “LET THE WICKED FORSAKE HIS WAY, AND THE UNJUST MAN HIS THOUGHTS, AND LET HIM RETURN TO THE LORD, AND HE WILL HAVE MERCY ON HIM, AND TO OUR GOD, FOR HE IS BOUNTIFUL TO FORGIVE.” ISAIAH 55:7
5) THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP. IT IS THE FINAL STEP OF FAITH. you CANNOT BE SAVED, UNLESS you BELIEVE THAT GOD WILL SAVE you AS he has PROMISED, AND FORGIVE THE SINS you CONFESSED. you MUST ADMIT AND CONFESS THAT you BELIEVE THE BIBLE IS GOD’S WORD, AND that you ACCEPT AND BELIEVE WHAT IT SAYS. Do you believe God said “AND THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST, HIS SON, CLEANSES US FROM ALL SIN...” 1 JOHN 1:7, THEN THAT IS FAITH AND YOU ARE SAVED. “FOR BY GRACE YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED THROUGH FAITH; AND THAT NOT FROM YOURSELVES, FOR IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD.” EPHESIANS 2:8 “AND IN HIM EVERYONE WHO BELIEVES IS ACQUITTED OF ALL THE THINGS OF WHICH YOU COULD NOT BE ACQUITTED BY THE LAW OF MOSES.” ACTS 13:39
