Christianity or Religious Hypocrites
“Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?” (Psalm 2:1) I realize that this is a strong title and as well it should be. I want to address these two (Christianity versus religious hypocrites) and talk about the difference in them in light of the recent election. First of all, far beyond just politics, in America and in the world at large there is spewing out of people such animosity, such meanness and even pure hatred and desires of evil in harming others or wishing to harm them. More and more people are becoming filled with anger and spewing evil out of their mouths, attacking others, even brethren, because they don’t see things eye to eye or agree about something. “Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.” Romans 1:29-32 That is a real mouthful, but it describes many men we saw in action during the election.
During this past election we saw abject hatred, with men willing to say anything, make any false accusation, any slander, any lie or deception to try and deceive others into following their way. Now it is understandable when a wicked evil man, who doesn’t even profess to know God or be a Christian, like Michael Moore makes a movie like he did and makes such claims as, “there is no terrorist threat” and lies in the face of reality which can be proven with many infallible proofs and makes accusations that can easily be proven lies and deceptions. He belongs to Satan and is an emissary and servant of Satan, his lord and master. No problem. It is no different than many others, as high witches who serve Satan, knowing that they are serving him, but because they believe his lies. It is entirely a different thing and one to make you wonder, when those who call themselves ‘Christian’ and say they love Jesus, show the same vile mean spirit and animosity towards a brother and those who don’t agree with their politics, their golden cow, which has become their god.
In contrasting the two men, President Bush and John Kerry, to begin with, one (President Bush) is a believer, even if he is not deep in his understanding of prophecy and end time events and is immature in some of his understanding of the ways and dealings of God and has made some mistakes, as we all do, the other (Kerry) is just a religious hypocrite who doesn’t know God any more than the proverbial man in the moon, only talking and playing religious and going to certain religious groups that have him come to their church. God said, “the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.” Psalms 1:5 Then they have a wicked man in their pulpit and they jump up and down and shout and say he is God’s man and answer for the ills of America. They are acting as enemies of God by supporting those who fight for immorality and wickedness that God calls an abomination. It is an abomination to God to shed innocent blood (abortion) and it is an abomination to God for men to sleep with men (homosexuals). They have a problem and it isn’t with me, but with God who gave His Word and said such people will in no wise enter the kingdom of heaven.
Any man, so immoral, so strongly for abortion rights and homosexual rights just to start with, is NO Christian. The only way you can call such a man a Christian is if you can put that word in front of devil. That makes an oxymoron, Christian devil. Not by any means, no matter what his title or church affiliation is such a person a Christian. I don’t care who he is, if his father is a great prophet, priest, pastor, evangelist or whatever. I don’t even care if he himself puts the title ‘Reverend’ in front of his name. If he supports wickedness and immorality, if he supports and stands with and supports those who support such wickedness, he is wicked and an enemy of God! Not because I say so, but because God says so!
Now the election is past, thought maybe not yet, because some are still fighting it. Yet after the election four years ago in 2000, the lies and accusations of Bush not being elected, of stealing the election and much more that never ended and still continues to this day, by men calling themselves by the name of Christ. This is a disgrace to the name of Christ. This is a smear on his name. It is a reproach to that holy name and to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is not Christianity.
The fruit of the Spirit doesn’t begin with anger, malice, hatred, envy, slander, lying and all the other fruits they have displayed for years and continue to display. They are being led by false, lying, deceiving preachers and prophets who are leading them to hell. You can’t live ungodly lives, violate the commands and Word of the living God and get by with it. You can’t live a life of hatred and evil and be saved and go to heaven. That is pure deception. There is going to be a lot of people that wake up in hell and wonder what happened. But don’t worry, the demons will soon let them know all about it and they will hear about it for eternity “Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.” It means they will remember why they are in hell and be reminded throughout eternity as they burn in the flames of the Lake of Fire. Yes, Jesus said those words numerous times. At the end of that same passage Jesus also said, “Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.” (Mark 9:50) Jesus also said, “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.” (Matthew 5:13)
Those who give themselves to continually disobeying the Word of God and doing evil, will pay the price of their rebellion against God in an eternal fire. First they violate Exodus 22:28; “Thou shalt not revile the gods (magistrates), nor curse the ruler of thy people.” Even Paul quoted this verse in Acts 23:5 saying, “for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.” God equates speaking evil with cursing. Think about that. But why is this a commandment of God? Daniel 2:21 says, “And he (God) changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:” God said that it is He who raises up rulers over a people. It doesn’t matter what you think about him. God placed that ruler, that president, that king, that Prime Minister over you. As a child of God we are supposed to be different than the heathen who know not God. We are to act like and talk like God’s children, for God, as representatives and ambassadors for God on the earth. That is the calling of every believer (2 Corinthians 5:20). That means that we don’t speak evil of our ruler, whether it is President Clinton or President Bush, whether Republican or Democrat. I am sorry if you don’t like it, it isn’t my law.
First to prove in the New Testament that God is the one who does this in accordance with His own Word, Acts 13:20-22; “And after that he gave unto them judges about the space of four hundred and fifty years, until Samuel the prophet. And afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years. And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king;” So God says He gave the people the prophets and the kings over Israel. God has never changed. He is in control of this world and the events thereof and everything that is happening is fulfilling God’s Word and what He foretold would be. There are no surprises in world history, as it follows the words of Daniel, Zechariah, John the Revelator and others. It is not even surprising how professing Christians act today, because God said it would be like this. He told us of false preachers and prophets. He told us of the blind leading the blind. He told us of there coming a great falling away from the truth in the last days. He told us that if He didn’t shorten the time, even the very elect would be deceived (and therefore not saved). “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” But those with a spirit of discernment will not be deceived, as the foolish virgins, who end up left out of the ark of salvation when Jesus shuts the door. Look what happens to the foolish virgins who have no oil in their lamps. Matthew 25:8-12 “And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.” You see, the reason the wise can’t give to the foolish is that it is not theirs to give. It doesn’t come from them. It is the oil of obedience and you can only purchase it by obeying the Word of God. Those who live in disobedience and rebellion will always be without the oil of the Spirit that is given to the obedient, the truly saved. People who just want fire insurance and want their ears tickled don’t want to hear this today but God said “he (Jesus) became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;” No obedience, no salvation, just like the foolish virgins. They don’t possess what they claim. They don’t have the goods they claim. They are hollow religious hypocrites.
Next, more New Testament for those who don’t think the Old Testament is relative for us today. Ephesians 4:31-5:2 “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.” I could quote you dozens of scriptures on this subject about the words we speak, about what comes out of our mouth shows what is in our hearts. If it is evil coming out of the mouth, then the heart is full of evil from the wicked one, Satan, no matter what you call yourself. James 3:8-10 “But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.” Before you say, see, he said no man can tame the tongue, as an excuse for speaking evil; he is speaking of the unregenerate man. Many scriptures tell you to put away evil speaking, put away lying, gossiping, etc. These are not of believers who have the spirit of God, but only those who walk in their fleshly lusts. Again, many scriptures could be quoted here, but either you believe God or you don’t. To prove that, just read the rest of that passage by James, “Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.” Notice the source of evil speaking, of bitter water, the devil. Are you a peace maker or a trouble maker? Do the words of your mouth speak life or death, will they lead to life or death. Are they a testimony for Christ and tell others that you are a believer and you life for and belong to Jesus, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, including your Lord, or doesn’t you life and words bring reproach to His holy name and cause other unbelievers to look at your life and say, how are you any different than me, other than that you go to church and claim to be something your not. Many unbelievers won’t go to a church because they say it is full of religious hypocrites. What many unsaved people have been seeing in the church is religious hypocrisy, of people claiming to be Christians acting and speaking in very ungodly ways, telling them that you are no different than they are, only a religious devil instead of an unreligious devil. I’ve had people say, I’d rather go to hell with honest people than dishonest religious hypocrites who think they are holy Joes when they are no different than I am. I have seen and heard Christians telling dirty jokes, taking of sinning, going out and getting drunk on Friday and also talk of how great their church is and about going to church. This is not Christianity, this is religious deception. They have a religious devil, an unholy spirit, not the holy spirit.
You say, but I’m saved, I asked God to forgive my sins, somewhere in the past, maybe you meant it, maybe it wasn’t from the heart, just empty words, but it doesn’t matter where you started, but where you end up. Jude 1:5 “I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.” Then he talks about fallen angels and Sodom and Gomorrha who suffer eternal fire because of their homosexuality, Then in verse 8 he speaks of this group who spek evil of leaders, “Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.” This is New Testament.
Romans 12:1-2 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” What image are you showing the world? What image are you being make like unto? Jesus or Lucifer? This verse expanded to show a more full translation, says, “I beseech, (I beg, plead and entreat) you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice (in actual use by the things you do every day), holy (for without holiness no man shall see God), acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service (logical, of the word, not extraordinary). And be not conformed to this world (do not look like and act like the world or be in their image, but be conformed to the image of Christ): but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind (to change in nature so as to make you fit for a new purpose, to be totally changed, to make the outward man like the inward spirit of Christ), that ye may prove (demonstrate with your life) what is that good, and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Making false and lying accusations about your President, demeaning him, speaking evil of him, even if he is not a brother is a sin. But because he is a brother, it is a worse sin. To choose a sinner over a child of God is a total disgrace and treason against God. If we are brethren, children of God by the new birth, as a part of the family of God, which you must be born-again to be a part of, then we are more related than to blood relatives who do not know Christ. Why? Salvation is an eternal relationship and family members who don’t serve Christ are not part of your real family, your eternal family and they don’t follow you to heaven. That is assuming that you are truly saved, and that you walk in salvation, you walk in repentance and forgiveness, which are necessary to keep your salvation and make heaven. No, there is nothing you can do to earn or receive forgiveness of sin, outside of believing and trusting in the finished works of Calvary and asking forgiveness of your sins and Christ to come into your heart and be your Lord and Savior. But, once you have come to salvation, there are requirements to walking in salvation and keeping it. Salvation is three fold. You were saved when you came to Christ, you are being saved by walking in that salvation and you will be saved, and it will be final when you enter into his eternal life. Until then, you are being saved and it is not a no strings attached, no requirement on your part, just say the right words at some time in your life and then live like the devil the rest of your life, because you think the “once saved, always saved’ doctrine (not in scripture) will get you to heaven. You’re dreaming, but it isn’t reality and your dream will end up with a rude awakening in hell.
Folks, its holiness or hell! Period! There are no other options or places to go. There is no second chance after death. There is no purgatory for you to pay the price for your sin, and then you get to heaven. And all the prayers and candles lit on your behalf won’t get you saved or get you to heaven after you die, if you haven’t given your heart and life to Jesus first and trusted in His substitutionary work on the Cross, taking you place and your sin that you might be forgiven. We need to stop deceiving ourselves and start calling sin, sin, a spade, a spade. We need to see in white and black, right and wrong by God’s Word and not in shades of humanistic grey. God is not going to judge us by what godless humanism says. He is going to judge us by His eternal Word and ‘thus saith the Lord.’
Every professing Christian, needs to obey God’s Word and stop cursing the President and start praying for him, that God will give him wisdom and grace and help him to make the right decisions, to make the right appointments, etc. We need to believe, “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness (not immorality) and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” (2 Timothy 2:1-4) There is a big difference between cursing and praying for your president. This is but a touching on the subject.
Romans 13:1-8 “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.” Are you blessing and praying for your president, not only because he is your leader, but because he is a believer also.
President Bush, showing a different spirit, has not showed revenge, get even with those who have done him evil, or held it against them, but he forgives and reaches out to help some of the very ones who so curse him. He is for the most part gracious in spirit and character and not like many who have attacked him without cause from before he even took office or did one thing against them. Taking such a reproach against someone who has done you no harm, is evil and wicked. Let us cast off the works of darkness and repent. This nation is in the terrible shape it is in because of the sins of the church, the sins of those who claim to belong to Christ.
That is why God said, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)
