The Prophetic Calendar of God

Psalm 25:14The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant.” ‘Secret’ is ‘cowd, sode’ and means something hidden, not known and can allude to an intimacy. It’s like, “the intimacy of the Lord is with them that fear Him; and to those who are close to Him, those who search Him out, He will reveal His covenant.” We are going to be talking about the covenant calendar of God. This will be geared to the prophetic but in the end talking about the Spirit of God’s final assignment.

What is the spirit of God’s final assignment? What is the Spirit of God up to and why are things going the way they are and what is the time we are in. When God created Adam there was no sin and so God didn’t have to keep time. So when Adam sinned, time began. Also it is believed that Adam and Eve had children in the garden. Time as we know it began at day one of creation and continues until the end of Revelation 20, then in chapter 21 and 22 the New Jerusalem comes down to the earth and we enter into eternity. Time will be continuous. In Revelation 10:6 it says time will be no longer. In the Greek, the angel is saying the time will no longer be delayed in this verse. It means that the time of God’s judgment will no longer be delayed; the time of BABYON being destroyed is no longer delayed.

So time begins in the Garden and goes to the end of time, as we know it and eternity. I am not too concerned about the Garden and eternity, but I do have a lot of questions about right now. In the Old Testament they searched what manner of time it would be when the Messiah would come. There is no rebuke in scripture for one who would seek to know the times and seasons in which the Lord would come back. In Matthew 24 the disciples asked about the end of time and the Lord didn’t rebuke them, but gave them a list of events that would show the times and seasons. How long do we have until Jesus comes and the harvest is over? We don’t know for sure. But how much time is left and what kind of Calendar are we on? There we bring in a new problem because you have to determine which calendar you are speaking of. Is it a Muslim calendar, a Jewish calendar (both which are lunar), the Gregorian calendar, the Julian calendar, the Jubilee calendar? So the original calendars were based upon the moon and the modern calendars are based upon the earth making it track around the sun in a 12 month period of time. So when you start dealing with which calendar to use things get all mixed up because somewhere around the 7th century BC there was a major change in the functioning of the planet earth.

There is a book called Old Testament Catastrophism (from Biblical Archeological Review) that talks about the Mars flyby. This scientist build models to show that centuries ago the planet Mars used to cross the earths pattern of rotation twice every 108 years and Mars was considered a planet of war and feared by the Greeks and Romans. In the Bible, in dates where catastrophic things happened, like meteorites falling from heaven and earthquakes, he calculates that on the calendar where Mars came very close to Earth it changed the gravitational pull and caused problems. He talked about Noah’s flood and said that on one side of Mars are a lot of holes on the planet and none on the other side showing that something bombarded it on one-side centuries ago. He goes to the ancient writings where Mars had two planets that used to be connected with it that are no longer there. He calculated how these planets were made of ice and when Mars came very close in the time of Noah it exploded those ice planets and pulled them into the gravitational pull and not only were the fountains of the deep opened up, but the ice came into our atmosphere and melted on the way down. Because of the pull that took place on the planet the earths axis was shifted by a few degree and that changed the calendar of a year from 360 days to 365 days a year.

I can’t go into details on this because I don’t have the material to do so. But what is interesting is that every ancient calendar before the 7th century BC was a 360-day lunar calendar. It didn’t matter if it was the Mayan Indians, the Chinese, the Egyptians, and the Hebrews. In the story of Moses about the flood, which he wrote in the wilderness 3500 years ago, he tells us that the flood was 150 days or 5 months of 30 days. They had 12 months of 30 days each in a year. Now, all modern nations are on a solar calendar because the lunar calendar doesn’t work. The calendar is 365.25 days a year, which is adjusted for by our leap year.

Now the Jews had a problem with their lunar calendar because the feasts start getting messed up and not at the right time of year. When you are deducting ‘x’ number of years from a solar calendar versus a lunar calendar it means that Passover no longer falls in March, but starts falling in February. They can’t do that, so every 19 years the Jews add 4 months. So every so many years they add an extra month to their calendar. I have a Hebrew calendar calculator and it just so happens this is a Jewish leap year with an extra month added. It is called Adar II. Adar is the name of one of their 12 months. Naturally it follows Adar I which begins in February and the first day of Adar II is February 5th, pushing Passover this year to April 17-18th. Remember, their day begins at 6pm in the evening. This is how they make sure that they can keep the feasts in the right part of the year but they are not on the same solar day each year, but roam about to some degree.

The point is this, when you try to calculate or figure out that the year 2001 is actually the year whatever, you have a real problem because God changed the calendar and length of year. In the beginning, the lunar calendar worked and 12 lunar months was a solar year, but not anymore. When did it change? If you go to the tribulation period in Revelation we find out some interesting things. According to Daniel 9:27 the tribulation period will be 7 years, but if you go to Revelation that time period is split up into 42 months and 42 months, 1260 days and 1260 days. Calculate that and you find that it is not solar but 7 years of 360 days. The tribulation in Revelation is 7 years of 360 days, not 365 days. So how do we equate what time God is on prophetically where the earth is concerned since heaven has no time but is in eternity? According to the Hebrew calendar this is year 5763 yet that number would be higher if they hadn’t been adding in months all these years at the rate of 1 year being added every 76 years.

Yet God is in eternity where there is no time. When you are eternal, you don’t worry about time, especially when there is no day or night and no one having to sleep. But when we talk about earthly prophetic things this is the problem men have had trying to calculate dates and figure out by them when the Lord will do something.

The bottom line is this. If you want to know what calendar God keeps and is working on, it is simple. God keeps time by covenants. God is a God of covenant and He keeps a covenant clock. We are going to look at the covenant clock and see why things are the way they are and maybe a bit about where things are going. In Genesis 5:1-32 you have the genealogies from Adam to Noah. There are 10 generations. In Genesis 10:20-31 you have Shem to Abraham, 10 generations. In Matthew 1:1-5 you have Isaac to Boaz and it is 10 generations. We talk about patterns and cycles and seasons but can you figure out that 10 and 10 and 10 seems to be a pattern and set time frame? If they were different there would be no significance. Adam is God’s creation with whom He made a covenant when the first lamb was killed. Ten generations go by and Noah comes along and God established covenant with Noah relating to the earth. Then Shem becomes the righteous son of Noah.

The Jews believe that Melchizedek, King of Salem that Abraham met was Shem the righteous son of Noah who became the first priest of the Most High God. If that were true it would be very interesting because of another covenant situation. Some may say that Shem wasn’t alive then, but if you calculate the years as given in Scripture you would find that he was still alive. There is nothing to base this on or to prove that and I don’t put any faith in that. But from Shem to Abraham is 10 generations because God had established a covenant with Abraham. Then you go from Isaac to Boaz, Isaac who birthed a covenant nation and you come to the 10th generation with Boaz.

We need to understand why Boaz is important. In the Hebrew Scriptures there is a word called generations. The word generation is spelled with two vav’s (ø), the 6th letter of the Hebrew alphabet. Transliterated into English it is towledah, to-led-aw'. The first instance of this is Genesis 2:4 speaking of the generations of the heavens and earth. In Genesis 5:1 it speaks of the generations of Adam and the second vav is not there. It is misspelled. Scholars have noticed for years that from Adam’s fall all the way to the book of Ruth, every time Moses spoke of generations or generation it is spelt throughout the Torah with the second vav missing. It is only spelled with one vav. Then in the story of Ruth that second vav reappears in Ruth 4:18these are the generations of Pharez”.

Now the righteous son of Noah would carry the lineage through which the Messiah would come. Pharez was the one through whom the lineage would come and carry on the righteous seed. And all of a sudden in the Hebrew scriptures that second vav reappears in the story of Ruth and Boaz. Why? Because it is in this story that it begins to tell us that Boaz begat a son named Obed and Obed begat a son named Jesse and Jesse begat a son named David and it was David who came through Ruth and Boaz lineage who would be the one in which the Bible would call the Messiah the Son of David, meaning that David’s seed would produce the Messiah. Here’s the point! The reason the vav in generations is lost with the fall of Adam is because something was missing through the fall. The reason it is restored it the book of Ruth is because David was going to bring about restoration in the land of Israel. He was going to restore Jebus as the city of Jerusalem and move the capitol to Hebron to the mountains of Zion and it would be through David that the Messiah would restore what Adam had lost. Hallelujah! These are things you see as to why there is a ten generational pattern and that ten generation pattern lands upon a certain person.

It is also interesting to notice the number 40. It is normally considered the number for a generation. In the book of Psalms it tells us that the Lord was grieved with the children of Israel when they wondered in the wilderness and says He was grieved with that generation for 40 years (Psalm 95:10). This is a generation of unbelief. “Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, it is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways.” So a traditional Hebraic generation is 40 years. That is why Moses is in Egypt for 40 years, watching sheep for 40 years, and being in the wilderness for 40 years. That is why Saul ruled 40 years, David ruled 40 years, Solomon ruled 40 years. In early Biblical history the number 40 was significant and marked the beginning of a new time frame and the conclusion of another.

How many commandments were given to Israel? Ten Commandments were given on Mount Sinai. If you take ten and multiply it by 40 you end up with 400. The first time God speaks of 400 to the nation of Israel is in Genesis 15:13. “And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years.” Why? Because God would give them Ten Commandments through Moses, they would break all ten and a generation is 40 so God took the 40 and multiplied it by ten and let them stay in a land not their own for 400 years. Yet, then God called that 400 years, 4 generations. We know that God called 40 years in the wilderness a generation to Moses and yet He told Abraham that 400 years was 4 generations. That is a generation of 100. So does this mess everything up?

We have to understand that early in Biblical history in the time of Abraham, most men lived to be over a hundred years. Isaac didn’t have a wife until he was forty. The generations of history were extended in the number of years because the length of years was extended to man’s life. In Psalms 90:10 he says that our days are 70-80 years. Yet in Genesis 6:3 God told Noah a man’s days would be 120. How old was Moses when he died? 120! Before the flood men lived to be from 600 to over 900 years old. They could have children at 500 years old. Noah was 500 when his sons were born. The iniquity of mankind reduced the time that God allotted man on the earth. Joseph lived 170, another 140, then Moses 120, then they start dying at 85 to 100 and now the average age even today is 77 years. It used to be much less, about 20 years less at the turn of the century.

The first time 400 is used in relation to the nation of Israel is when God told Abraham they would be in captivity for 400 years because they would have 40 years times the number of commandments broken. Ten generations we saw was a pattern. But the other pattern showed covenant time, when He cuts the covenant, when He makes a decision that is covenant related. Then He starts marking that even and always does so around a person. Abraham, David, Jesus. So the people or the nation that He makes covenant with, He will mark that generation, that timeframe or that year because that is when He is keeping the vow or promise and so that date, that year becomes marked. Many times the person connected to that year becomes marked. Matthew 1:17So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.” Here a generation doesn’t necessarily mean 40-year periods, but 14 people and 14 people. Because the phrase here alludes to when a man is born and then has a son, the son begins the next generation. So in this instance it has nothing to do with specific years because they are totally different, 729, 654, 8 hundred something. But if you add up people, a listing of people, you have 14 generations of people in each.

Abraham is mentioned because God made a covenant of faith with Abraham. He mentions David because God made a covenant for the city of Jerusalem and a throne forever of the seed of David. The strange one is the carrying away unto Babylon. This doesn’t seem to fit. All the other covenant things are positive. Babylon was bad. But we have to understand something about Babylon. How many commandments were there? Ten! In Deuteronomy, God said, if you disobey and don’t harken unto my voice I will punish you even seven times for your sin. What is 7 times 10? 70! Jeremiah 25:11And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.” The reason Babylon is mentioned here is because it was a time when Israel lost covenant. When Israel cut covenant with God, did not keep their jubilees and let the land rest, then God sent them into the captivity, not forsaking them, because He brought them back, but temporarily He said He was forsaking them or divorcing them, but He promised to bring them back because of His covenant with Abraham. So there is a date here connected to Babylon, which is negative because covenant was cut off temporarily. Then we come to Christ who is the mediator of the New Covenant. Here again, instead of ten, ten and ten, we have 14, 14, 14. Another dynamic pattern. All that is in the past and history and fine, but what about now?

Daniel 9 takes us to now. The setting is the Jews are in captivity in Babylon. God has told them they would come out after 70 years (Jeremiah 25:12). Daniel takes the scroll of Jeremiah and realizes time is about up and wants to know if God will fulfill His Word and bring them back, but God sends an angel to tell him they will go back, but they will do so during troublous times. And by the way, trouble for the nation isn’t over. They will still reject God again. God says there will be another rejection and another time they will break covenant with me and I will have to send judgment because of the broken covenant. Trouble will come again, because the Messiah will come and be rejected by them. Like they went into captivity in Babylon because they messed up, they will be scattered among the nations of the earth and there will be a gap of time. At first this will get confusing. Daniel 9:24-25Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.” 7 weeks or 7 x 7 and threescore and two weeks or 62 weeks. Vs.26And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.” Then he picks up the thought. Vs.27And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.” That can be a bit confusing, so lets break it down.

In Hebrew, there is a word for week or weeks. There is a Sabbath or seventh day, a Sabbatical year which is every seven years and a Jubilee cycle which is 7 years x 7 years and the 50th year is the year of Jubilee. It is the same in this passage. It is not 70 weeks of days, but 70 weeks of years. They have already been in captivity for 70 years. But now something is coming called 70 x 7 or 490 years. Where is 490 found first in the Old Testament? Genesis 11:10-32; Shem was 100 years old when he had his first son. Abraham was 100 when Isaac was born (Genesis 21:5). In between Shem, the son of Noah and Abraham it tells you how old the men were when their sons were born. If you go from Shem to the time Isaac is born it is exactly 490 years. If it were true that the Jewish approach concerning Shem, and any way you look at it Melchizedek was a type of Christ, but if you take that Shem, the righteous son of Noah was this man (Melchizedek was not his name but a title, king of righteousness, as Caesar was a title and not a name), if you say that Melchizedek was the first priest of the Most High God and that Isaac is God’s covenant son and that through him came the nation of Israel, then you have this strange link of this 490 years connected.

We are talking covenant now so don’t get so caught up on the numbers that you forget covenant. What the scripture in Daniel is saying is that from the time that the Jews go back to Jerusalem and get the decree to start building, which will come during trouble, from that time until the time that Messiah is cut off, but not for himself, Jesus didn’t die for himself but for us, will be a total of 62 + 7 or 69 weeks. That is 483 years. Sir Isaac Anderson wrote a book called “The Coming Prince” which became a classic. He was a genius that worked for Scotland Yard. He calculated the decree that came to rebuild the city just like Daniel was told, until the time of Jesus crucifixion (he dates the crucifixion to April 6th, 32AD which many scholars are looking at today) and he tells us that it was exactly on the prophetic calendar of God using a 360 day year calendar, exactly 483 years from the time the first decree came until the time that Jesus was crucified which is exactly what the prophet saw.

But wait a minute. The prince of the people that comes destroys the city. Titus, in 70AD destroyed the city but he didn’t do it on the 483rd year because the 483rd year was from the decree until Jesus is cut off or crucified. Then it just says the prince of the people that will come. So some scholars say that can’t be true because the temple wasn’t destroyed until about 40 years later in the year 70 AD and you would have to add 40 years onto the 483 years, making 523 years. You must understand that after 483 years, or on April 6th, 32AD, something happened. Jesus said the temple would be destroyed in Matthew 24 and that something that happened was the shifting of the covenant. So as far as God was concerned, when the shifting of the covenant took place, prophetic time stopped there. It didn’t matter if they didn’t destroy the temple until 250AD. Prophetic time shifted when Jesus died on the cross.

When God introduces a New Covenant, He marks the time and he marks the person. What are you saying? What did Jesus say at the beginning of His ministry? “I am come but for the Lost sheep of the house of Israel.” Jesus told His disciples at the beginning of His ministry to stay away from the Gentiles. Don’t preach to the Gentiles. A woman came from Lebanon and wanted her daughter healed and Jesus said, it isn’t right for me to give the children’s bread to dogs. I can’t just give the covenant blessing of healing for my people Israel, to the dogs or Gentiles. He really spoke down to her and didn’t even call her Gentile. But she kept worshipping Him and then He didn’t have a choice. When you start worshipping Jesus, the Father will move and things will happen. Jesus only did what the Father told Him to do, of all He said and the miracles He did, He did nothing of Himself, but only what He heard of the Father. So here worship caused the Father to move to tell the Lord to heal this woman’s daughter.

Okay. God said 400 years you will be in Egyptian bondage. Then God marks the timeframe and marks ten generations because of something. And he marks 14 generations because of something. Now, at the crucifixion God is marking something. He is marking the fact that the scribes have rejected Him, the priests have rejected Him, the Pharisees have rejected Him and although the common people received Him, the religious people who knew the Word of God the best said No to Jesus. And they sealed it when in Pilot’s hall they said, His blood be upon us and upon our children. That was the time that they with their mouth, spoke by the Torah, the Word of God, by the Law of Moses. The Law of Moses said if you shed the blood of an innocent person, your land gets cursed. They took their own law in their own mouth and stood on the law and said let His blood be upon us. There they finally rejected Him and violated their covenant with God and a shifting took place.

On the day of Pentecost everyone was Jewish, but by Acts 5 everyone is still Jewish, but when you get to Acts 10, the Gentiles receive the Holy Spirit in Cornelius house and Saul of Tarsus gets called to preach to the Gentiles, to become Paul the Apostle and the prophetic clock stopped and God marked the date when the Messiah would be cut off from the people, but not for himself because there was a changing of covenant. That is why from April 6th, 32AD until today God has touched Gentiles nations. Britain, America, Canada, Latin America, God has laid His hand upon Gentile nations because the prophets of the Old Testament said you will be a light to the Gentiles. The Gentiles, the heathen will trust in your name. Those who have not had a covenant with God will have a covenant with God.

Now getting to where we want to go. There is a week missing. When it says 490 years are finished everlasting righteousness will come. Daniel 9:24 says, “…to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.” We went through 483 years and then on April 6th, 32AD there was shifting of the covenant. When there is a shifting of the covenant, God changes His time. Now God has been working on Gentile time and not Jewish time for almost 2000 years. But when you start with the last seven years, the 70th week of Daniel, which is better known as the Tribulation period and you have 42 months and 42 months, God kicks back into the Old Calendar of 360 days making a year and a Tribulation of 7 years or, 1260 days for the first part and 1260 days for the second part. Any way you look at it, it is a 360 day calendar that we are not currently on. We are on a calendar of 365.2 days. In the tribulation period, God won’t be on our calendar, but on the Jewish calendar that is 5 days short of our year. So the actual 7 year tribulation period with be a full 35 days shorter than the time for 7 years that we are going by today. There is a 7 year time frame that hasn’t been fulfilled yet of the Jewish calendar. (Another question is whether or not God will cause the calendar to actually change back to a Lunar 30 day calendar).

How is this 7 year time frame introduced? With a treaty, a covenant signed with Jerusalem and Israel. Why? Because the covenant is going to change! Israel and the Jews are the bride of God, the church is the Bride of Christ. God put them under a cloud on Mount Sinai and every Rabbi said it was the marriage houpa and did the wedding ceremony of Exodus 19 on top of that mountain and married them and then divorced them. But he promised to remarry them, to bring them back to Himself and give them a new heart. Jeremiah tells us about it. Jesus has a Bride on earth, a called-out group, called the church.

Some believe that before God can re-establish the covenant of marriage to His people Israel, Jesus has to come and get His people, the bride. That’s why we have to go to a Marriage Supper and since every Jewish wedding in ancient times lasted 7 days and The Tribulation is 7 years, therefore we will be in heaven, having the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, receiving rewards for the 7 years of the Tribulation. But in the end it says, All Israel shall be saved.

There is one week left, one 7 left, a gap. There has had to be a gap, because the people who were not and the nation that was not, that would provoke them to jealousy, had to be birthed on the day of Pentecost. Every covenant of the Bible has 2 things involved. Every covenant has a movement of the Holy Spirit connected in it and every covenant brings a fresh revelation of something relating to God. Every covenant is introduced by the Holy Ghost. In Acts 2 when the church was born, the spirit of God came, they spoke with tongues and began to prophecy and the church was born. So the Holy Spirit was the agent who birthed the church. When the Gentiles got grafted into the covenant in Acts 10, how did the Jews know they were brought into the covenant? Because Cornelius, an Italian man received the Holy Spirit. Then Peter preached to the Jews in Jerusalem that the Gentiles now had covenant with God because we heard them speak with the same tongues and the same Holy Ghost they had received and who was I to resist God.

Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit. The church was birthed by the Holy Spirit. The Gentiles were grafted in and confirmed by the Holy Spirit. We will be changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye, by the Holy Spirit. The dead will be resurrected by the Holy Spirit. Romans 8:11if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” In every covenant the Holy Spirit has been the agent to bring that covenant to pass. In Ephesians 1:10That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:” That gathering together is what we call the rapture. It is revealed in Paul’s first letter, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” Caught up together! The Rapture! Then Paul goes on in Ephesians to tell us that the Holy Spirit is the agent. Ephesians 1:13In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.” God seals His covenants. Vs.14Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession.” What is the redemption of the purchased possession? We have been purchased by His blood. But what is the redemption of it? It doesn’t mean the day you were saved. It says, until the redemption of. “when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh” (Luke 21:28). It’s the rapture, when Jesus comes for His own. When we get to heaven we won’t need to speak in tongues anymore. We won’t need to prophesy anymore, all prophecies will have been fulfilled. We don’t need laying hand on the sick for their will be no sick. We won’t need power to cast out devils for there won’t be any to cast out. So we are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, the earnest of our inheritance, until the day of the redemption of the purchased possession. The word earnest means a pledge and from the Greek is ‘engagement ring’. It was the ring the man gave unto the woman to say, ‘your mine.’ The Holy Spirit is our engagement ring, our pledge that we are engaged to Jesus Christ. That’s why preachers who don’t believe in the Holy Spirit are like eating dry oatmeal without milk. What good is such preaching?

The Holy Spirit, when he comes into a believer’s life and they genuinely receive the gift and genuinely begin to pray in the Holy Spirit, He has put an engagement ring on your finger. How many know that sometimes women break off an engagement. How many know that sometimes the ring is given back and you have the choice to say, ‘I don’t want to serve God, I’m tired of this life, I’m giving the ring back, I’m going back into the world and live my way.’ I don’t care what anyone says about unconditional eternal security, you still are a free moral agent and you still have a free will and that is what makes you a human being. God can take possession of your will and direct your will and you can submit your will to God’s will, but you still have a will even though you were born again and you can still choose to disobey God and turn from Him and go back to the ways of the world. If you lost your will when you were saved then you would be no more than a puppet on a string or a robot. God isn’t interested in a bunch of puppets just going through the motions of religion. Let’s raise our hands and praise God, let’s do this and that, glory to God. We are not puppets on a string and you still have the power to choose in everything, where to shop, what clothes to wear, how to live and you can still choose whether or not to go on serving God and following Him or not. “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live” (Deuteronomy 30:19). You have the power to choose, but as long as you are loving God, abiding in His Word, obeying His Word, love to pray and can be touched by the Holy Spirit, then you know you still have your engagement ring on and are still a part of that purchased possession and have a hope in Him.

Genesis 22 is the story of Abraham, Isaac and some servants. It is the crucifixion of Jesus. You Genesis 22:2And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah,” In this story, Abraham is a type of the Father and Isaac is a type of His only begotten son, Jesus. The land of Moriah is the edge of Mount Moriah, where Jesus was crucified. “and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.” Mount Calvary is one of the hills. Vs.3And Abraham rose up early in the morning,” The process of taking Jesus out of Jerusalem happened early in the morning. “And saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him,” Two young men were with Him, Jesus had a thief on each side of him upon the cross. “and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.” Vs.4Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.” Rabbis teach that ‘the place’ is another place for God. Because God is in every place, therefore He is “the place”, therefore the place is His place. And ‘afar off’ doesn’t just mean distance but space and time.  Let me tell you what this could be translated by these definitions “And Abraham, when he lifted up his eyes, he saw something about God in the distance.” He perceived something about God afar off. If you don’t believe he saw something, then why do you think Jesus said, “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad” (John 8:56). Three days and they lifted up their eyes, Jesus was in the tomb for three days and one the third day he lifted up His eyes and came out of the grave. Genesis 22:6And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son.”  Jesus had to lay upon the cross. In Vs. 8 Abraham said, “My son, God will provide himself a lamb.” In Hebrew it could be read this way, “God shall Himself become a lamb.Vs. 14Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh,” which means “in this place God shall see to it.”  This was a picture of the crucifixion of Jesus.

What happened after the crucifixion? There was a shifting of the covenant. Jesus came out of the grave and the covenant has now changed and the Gentiles that have never had a covenant with God are about to get one. The Gentiles that haven’t had a relationship with God are about to have a relationship with God. But before that can happen, that natural covenant that Israel has for the land has been broken because they put a curse upon themselves and their land was cursed. Some say God cursed all the Jews, but I don’t believe that. Jesus prayed to the Father upon the cross, “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.” When Jesus says forgive them, they are forgiven. They cursed the land. They cursed the city and they did it by the Law of Moses.

Guess what happens in the next chapter of Genesis (23)? Sarah dies. Sarah gave birth to Isaac. Isaac was a type of Jesus Christ, a picture of Christ. Sarah suddenly dies. Suddenly the land of Israel is about to go through its second major captivity. Suddenly in a short period of time this land that birthed the Messiah is about to face a temporary death from their land and from their city and from their temple. There is a reason it had to happen. Finally after Sarah’s death, Abraham gets his servant by the name of Eleazar. Abraham is a picture of the Father, Isaac who is a picture of the Father offering his son Jesus and Eleazar is a type of the Holy Spirit because Eleazor in the next chapter (24) goes on a mission to find a bride for Isaac.

Let us look at the parallels here. Genesis 24:10And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand.” If he took 10 camels, then he is riding one and that leaves nine camels loaded down with goods. The Holy Spirit brought nine gifts of the Spirit and nine fruits of the Spirit. Vs.11And he made his camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of the evening.” There is so much in the scripture on water. John 7:38-39He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive.Isaiah 12:3Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.” All of sudden here comes Rebecca born to someone named Bethuel which means separated unto God. The church is the ekklesia, ek-klay-see'-ah or the called out ones, the separated ones. So she starts giving water, not just to Eleazar but also to the camels. She starts making a provision for the gifts. She is going to get these gifts, her family is going to get these gifts that Eleazar has brought on these camels. She is giving water to the camels, which means she is making room for the provision of the gifts. The real church doesn’t fight the gifts of the spirit, the real church still believes that the blessed Holy Ghost still has nine camels if you please. Vs.22And it came to pass, as the camels had done drinking, that the man took a golden earring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold.” Remember, Eleazar represents the Holy Spirit. The first thing he gets her attention with is her ears and her hands. They wore ankle and neck bracelets, but he gets her ear. The Spirit says, “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the spirit saith unto the churches,” seven times in the book of revelation. Jesus has to get your ear before He can get the rest of you. If your not listening, you’re not going to receive anything. Then he gets your hands. Your hands are the work that you do. It is what your called.

Let’s drop down to verse 55. “And her brother and her mother said, Let the damsel abide with us a few days, at the least ten; after that she shall go.” Eleazar had asked in verse 54 that he be sent back to his master after staying overnight. The number ten here is significant because on the day of Pentecost they had waited ten days before they received the gift of the Holy Spirit. Finally, they met Isaac (vs.62) at the well of Lahairoi; which means the well of living water. Isaac comes out of the field and sees her coming. Vs.67And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent.” Wait a minute. Rebecca could have never gone into Sarah’s tent until Sarah was gone. His mother had to have been gone first. We were blessed that we were grafted into them. The Jews weren’t grafted into us. What the Holy Ghost did was go out to Laban, and Laban wasn’t a Jew but a Syrian and you can see that later. Abraham was the first Hebrew in the Bible and his sons were the only Hebrews at this time. Eleazar, a servant to Abraham came with nine camels, riding the tenth one, gave gifts to the lady and then said come back with me, met Isaac in a field and he took Rebecca into mommas tent which was a type of the Holy Ghost going out from Jesus Christ and said ‘find me a Gentile bride, I can’t find one among the people here.’ That is what Abraham said, I can’t find one here among the people, so go down there and find the one. Jesus said, ‘I tried to get Israel to be my bride but they won’t listen to me, so Holy Ghost find me one.’ And Eleazar, the Holy Ghost went out and found Isaac, Jesus a bride, but first Sarah had to die and her tent had to be opened before the bride of Isaac could come in and the reason the covenant was broken is not because God didn’t want them, He did want the Jews to receive Messiah. By in large the first century church was Jewish, but the old religious hard-hearted Pharisee, Scribe, Saducees, Doctors and lawyers rejected Jesus and the tent was opened up of Sarah and the covenant on the land became cursed, but suddenly God brought in a new covenant in and said, bring Rebecca into my tent. The Holy Ghost was looking for a bride for Isaac and today the bride is loosed around the world finding a bride for Jesus Christ.

With every covenant there is a move of the Holy Spirit. With Noah, God revealed restoration to the earth. With Abraham He revealed the faith walk. With David He revealed worship. Nobody really worshipped before David. David really introduced worship, with dancing, clapping, singing. With Christ He brought redemption. So every move of God, when the covenant is about to shift, in this instance I am talking about the church, the Gentile nations have the gospel, but eventually God will shift the covenant back to Israel. That is why Israel, a country the size of New Jersey is on the news every day. For it to happen, God has to remove the gentile branches of unbelief, the gentile nations are now getting fully into unbelief now and the re-grafting into the original Jewish tree of the Hebrew nation and the remnant that will survive the tribulation period. So the Holy Spirit has to be involved, always.

Every shifting of covenant brings out a new revelation of God. When Moses introduced the commandments he also got the revelation of the tabernacle, the dwelling place of God. When David made covenant with God he got the revelation of the temple, he built the plans of the temple, not Solomon. In the covenant David got, he got a revelation of the temple. Abraham got a revelation on circumcision and it being a token of the covenant. The church has to have a revelation. 1967 is when the Israelis recaptured the city of Jerusalem and it was reunited and that also was the beginning of the charismatic renewal. Nominal churches said speaking in tongues is not real, some said it is of the devil, praying for the sick is fake, prophecy is out and then all of a sudden members of these dead nominal denominations started experiencing the gifts and working of the Holy Spirit. Many Baptists and others at first after receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit with signs following were given the left foot of fellowship by their denominations and started non-denominational churches. Why? There was a shifting and with every shifting comes the involvement of the Holy Spirit and a revelation that will change a person and a nation and a church. What revelation are we into?

The menorah is sometimes shown with a triangular base. The emblem of Christianity in the first century was the fish. When you take the tail of the fish and intersect it with the base of the menorah, it forms a Star of David, the emblem of modern Israel. There is a seal found on 40 pieces of pottery excavated in 1969 on Mount Zion from the first century in Israel. The Greek Orthodox monastery has it but a man named Ludwig Schnider has 8 pieces that the monk gave him before he died and this is now becoming a seal or emblem of two things. This seal, hidden for 1900 years is really getting to the archeologists because they had dug all over the country and not found this seal. They only found it on Mount Zion, 30 yards from the upper room in a grotto underground. They found a rock that says, the oil of the spirit that had a big vessel that they used to anoint people. Back then when they anointed someone they poured oil over your head, not a drop. It was found in 1969, two years after Jerusalem was reunited, two years after the charismatic renewal started. Since the first century, but it really was stronger in the second and third, the Roman church took everything Jewish out of church history. They didn’t want Jesus to be a Jew. The still left the 7th day, the Sabbath as Saturday, but the gentiles in Paul’s writings were not obligated to keep the Jewish things and because the Christians got booted out of the Synagogues, Paul started worshipping on the first day of the week. That became the Christian Sabbath because they couldn’t worship with the Jews because of a conflict that couldn’t be healed. They all started on Saturday, but then the gentiles took Sunday, which became the Lord’s Day.

Anyway, these rifts started. What day is right, is the Sabbath on Saturday or Sunday. Most of the Jewish people who live in Israel, 60% are atheists. Why? Because they say, ‘if God was real, He would never have killed all of our people in the holocaust.’ Tel Aviv is over 60% atheist and agnostic, Tiberius is 65% atheist and agnostic, Jerusalem is the most religious center, but even among the orthodox, many don’t even believe Israel has a right to exist and they live there. They believe the Messiah has to come and announce the right of Israel to exist. It’s a mess. In the beginning the first church was Christian and Jewish and men made a rift, rabbis and men got to fussing and throwing men out of the church. But today many Jews in Israel are reading the New Testament for the first time.

From the time our calendar began until the time Israel became a nation again on our modern calendar was 1948 years. If you go back through the listing of the genealogies Adam was 130 when he begat Seth and when you add them up until the time of Abraham you get 1948 years. If you try to add these listings up you have to notice in Genesis 11:10 that Shem was 100 when Arphaxad was born, 2 years after the flood. It is the only place like this in genealogies where you have to add in that two years or you would get 1946. It is interesting to note that the holocaust went from 1935 to 1945. Then in 1946 as the wars wrapped up and came to a conclusion, you have 2 years from 1946 to 1948 when Israel becomes a nation. Because of the types and shadows and the way God does numbers in scripture, may be the reason why Genesis 11:10 was given this way because everything in the Word of God to the names of the individuals and the numbers are inspired and have a purpose and reason. God didn’t have to put that there, but there are clues within the scriptures to help us see the things of God, but they are hidden.

The purpose of this study was to understand that Daniel’s 70th week, or the 483 years that have been fulfilled and the last 7 years that are yet to be fulfilled will be the tribulation period. That God counts time by covenant and those last 7 years will kick in and bring Him back to dealing with Israel to fulfill the prophecy with the climax of the times of the gentiles. The fullness of our time and the nation of America, the only gentile nation that began in covenant with God is coming and we will begin to see governmental, religious and political changes that will take place. We cannot place a date when the Lord will return, but I do believe the fullness of the Gentiles is about to wrap up, in the 2007-2008 time frame, forth years from the time Jerusalem was united as the capitol of Jerusalem. Remember forty is the number for a generation of unbelief. Yet there is a lot of things that can’t be pinpointed to a specific time because we don’t know all that is in the mind of God. It is the last days, major prophecies are being fulfilled, and there are plenty of signs of the times to show that Jesus is soon to return.

{{Extra}}Have you noticed in some churches there are tambourines and banners, shofars and prayer shawls. This isn’t just a fad, it’s how they do it in Israel. The day is coming when everyone will be celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles and to those who don’t there will be no rain. Zechariah 14:16-20 “And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD'S house shall be like the bowls before the altar.” Everyone will not be singing 4-4 time, Southern Gospel music in Jerusalem. There will be celebrating, shouting, rams horns and dancing before the Lord.
