Muslims Final Prophet – The Mahdi
At the death of Mohammed, the founder of Islam, the religion split into two branches, the Sunni and the Shiite. They began to fight among themselves. In the Shiite branch of Islam there were 11 Inman’s or Holy men. Most of them were poisoned, killed or assassinated in battle. But it’s the twelfth one that has always intrigued the Shiite Muslims. The twelfth was the son of the eleventh and he disappeared and they never found his grave. They teach today that he is either hiding in a cave or somewhere in the desert and in the end of days he will reappear riding on a white horse. He will ride into Jerusalem on that white horse and take over Jerusalem and Jesus will come with him and tell the world, “I am not the Son of God” and make the people who are there deny the trinity. If they don’t agree that Jesus is not the Son of God and don’t deny the trinity, the Mahdi will be given permission to kill them.
In the Islamic traditions, which are made up of both the Koran, the Islamic holy book and the Hadith, the sayings of Mohammed that were later written down.
In the book of Revelation we are told of a beast with seven heads. Revelation 13:1 “And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns,” But then John tells us something that neither Daniel nor any of the other Old Testament writers tell us about. He said there was a king that would form an 8th kingdom for 42 months. Where have you ever heard about an 8th kingdom? It has always been about the 7th kingdom in the last days and for decades the emphasis has been on the common market. When you look at the common market nations you can see the revised Roman Empire. The Revived Roman Empire is the 7th empire. But Revelation says that that kingdom continues for a short space. Then out of one of the seven former empires will arise a king for a time, times and dividing of times or 3 ½ years. Revelation 13:5 “and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.” For 42 months this king will form an 8th kingdom and rule. When you consider how the common market fits into kingdom number seven and that Islam fits into the eighth kingdom you will come to realize that there are some countries in the old Roman Empire that no one talks about. They don’t speak about northern part of Morocco, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Syria and Lebanon. What do all these nations have in common? They are all Muslim. In fact, if you go around the Mediterranean Sea area, the area of the Old Roman Empire, you discover that around that whole area the only two nations that are not Muslim are Italy and Greece. Everything from Turkey into Syria and Lebanon and Israel, into Egypt and the northern horn or Africa, the northern part of Iraq where the Kurds are today, is all Islamic.
Though they may be preaching kingdom number seven correctly, which is the common market, what do you do with kingdom eight, which has to include these Islamic nations as Syria? How do we know this? In the book of Daniel, it tells us where the antichrist comes from.
Daniel talks about a great goat that represented the kingdom of Alexander the Great. Daniel 8:5 “as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.” He said it had a great horn on its head that was suddenly divided into four parts. Daniel 8:8 “Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.” History tells us that Alexander’s kingdom was divided into four parts among his four generals when he died. One took Egypt and northern Africa. One took Syria and the territory of Babylon. One took Greece and one took the territory of Turkey. Out of one of these regions Daniel tells us arises a little horn speaking great things. Daniel 7:8 “I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.” So the antichrist has to come out of either the northern part of Africa, the territory of Iraq, Syria and Lebanon, the territory of Turkey or that of ancient Greece. As we continue to look at this scripture it tells us that this little horn, the last world dictator, the antichrist, would be great towards the south, which is the northern horn or Africa from where Israel is, toward the east and toward the pleasant land, another name for Israel. Daniel 8:9 “And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.” It specifically tells us where his greatness will be and doesn’t say anything about the west. It mentions the south and the east. East of Israel is Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, where all the terrorism is rising up against the west and Israel. If the order here is specific and important, then first it mentions the south. If that is where he begins, then it would mean that the antichrist comes from the south in relationship to Israel which included Egypt, Ethiopia, Libya and Palestine. At least this is where his power base begins. Then he takes over the East or the Persian Gulf area and the oil. It is most likely then after he is controlling most of the world’s oil that the ten kings join and submit to him because he controls the oil. Does that make you think of certain European nations today who are dependent upon Middle East oil who are against war against Iraq to oust Saddam Hussein? Revelation 17:12-13 “And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.”
A lot of times in church we learned to believe what we were taught, but sometimes when you look at the simple scriptures without the preconceived notions of religion or what was taught in denominationalism, we see something different. I know for a fact that many pastors in denominational churches, including mine, taught things they didn’t personally believe in, but only because it was the official doctrine of the denomination. Sometimes there is either more information than taught and other times the teaching went beyond the scriptures with conjecture.
When you take the traditions of Islam and the prophecies of the Bible and look at prophecy of scripture from an Islamic perspective you discover that if you look at the details you see interesting parallels. The Muslim Mahdi comes riding on a white horse and Revelation 6 speaks of a man coming riding a white horse with a crown and a bow with no arrows, which could say he is coming in the name of peace (though different men have said that is Jesus, Satan or the antichrist). Revelation 6:2 “behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him:” We discover that according to Islamic tradition that when the Mahdi comes he will bring Islamic justice and convert the world to Islam, but if you don’t convert you are behedded. Revelation 20 tells us that there are saints who are behedded for the testimony of Jesus. Revelation 20:4 “I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands;” Only Muslims have the term, sword of Islam and kill by behedding with the sword. Fanatical Islam today, even Saudi Arabia beheads people for certain crimes. This antichrist will be over the gold and silver and the precious things. Daniel 11:43 “But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.” The Muslim world today is buying up all the gold and silver they can get because they believe, based upon their traditions that Mohammed said there would be an economic collapse in the last days and gold and silver will be what survives. Today they are making both gold and silver coins that 22 Islamic nations are producing and setting up for trade among themselves. Remember, in all false religions there is some truth, enough to attract people and deceive.
In Daniel this man that will rule, the antichrist, says he will be over the fattest places and the Hebrew word that is translated from means oily places. Daniel 11:24 “He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.” The Hebrew word for province there is the word Medina. There is a desert called the Median desert, which is the root of that word. But if you take Medina literal, it is in Saudi Arabia where the founder of Islam was buried. If you take that same scripture and translate it today, we would say, “the antichrist will be over the oily places of Medina” or he will take over the Saudi Arabian oil wells and any man who can control the oil wells can control the world. Daniel tells us that this man takes over the northern part of Africa, which is Egypt and Libya and Ethiopia. The purpose of that is to control the sea lanes to control the oil going in and out. Saddam was proclaimed to be the Mahdi by Osama bin Laden. Saddam has been rebuilding ancient Babylon and why do you think he attacked Iran and Kuwait? To take over all the Middle East oil so that he could use it to control and blackmail the world. Everyone knows if he had successfully taken Kuwait, Saudi Arabia would have been next and that is why they wanted our help an Saudi Arabia let us use their land to fight Saddam the last time. Osama bin Laden, Saddam and other extremists want to do away with the royal family of Saudi Arabia who exiled bin Laden.
Let’s look at this tradition of the twelfth prophet, the Mahdi, that is supposed to be in a desert being protected by God, that in the last days he will appear according to Islamic tradition with Jesus. That is what is really interesting. The Muslims believe in Jesus but they do not believe that he was the Son of God and they do not believe he was crucified. All Muslims believe that Jesus was a great prophet and that he was actually born of the Virgin Mary. Where they totally separate everything with Christianity is that Jesus is the Son of God. The Koran and their traditions teach that God has no son, that He was not begotten and has not begotten any son. The frightening part and bazaar part is that all Islam, the Sunni and Shiite have these same traditions and believe that when this man comes into power, Jesus will appear with him and they will go into Jerusalem and there is a writing that says when they come the rocks will says “Jews are hiding behind us” and they kill the Jews at that point. To quote them, they will “kill the swine and destroy the cross.” The swine being the Jews and the cross being the Christians. That is why there will be so many martyrs in Revelation 6 and the beheading of people in Revelation 20. The doctrine of the sword of Islam says that one who blasphemes the name of the prophet Mohammed or the name of Allah, is to be beheaded with the sword.
Going a bit further. You might ask the Muslim, okay, if you believe in Jesus and that he was a prophet born of the virgin Mary, what happened to Him? They believe that before the crucifixion of Jesus, God changed his countenance and that Judas or one of the other disciples was crucified in his place and that Jesus was caught up to God in heaven who rebuked Jesus and told him, “why did you tell the people that you are my son when you know that I do not have a son?” So Jesus then repented to God and God said to Jesus, “In the last days I will send you back to earth to tell the people you are not my son.” And that is the false prophet of Revelation 13:11 who will come doing signs and wonders and calling fire out of heaven like Elijah, that will build an image and make the image speak and live. Revelation 13:11-15 “And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” The Greek Word for image is eikon, i-kone'. He builds an icon, a statue image and makes it speak and live. That is the one miracle Jesus never did. Jesus opened up the blind eyes, opened deaf ears and even raised the dead. He did physical, mental and spiritual miracles but he never took something inanimate and created life from it. Only God himself took dust and made Adam. The false prophet will do one miracle that Jesus never did; Jesus would never take an object and put something in it to make it live. It will be a demonic miracle but they will receive him as Jesus.
In Islam, Jesus didn’t die on the cross so he has no scars. The false prophet will have no scars and will not have to prove that he was crucified. The false prophet of Revelation 13:11 will be someone coming out of that Roman Empire, a religious leader that will join with the first beast in Revelation 13 who is the antichrist. Most likely this will be the one that even many Catholics believe will arise that they call a defective Pope. You heard me right, many Catholics believe that the false prophet will be a defective Pope.
The Apostle John is the man who coined the term antichrist. The term was never used until he coined and put the term into the Bible. antichristos, an-tee'-khris-tos. Now antichristos doesn’t mean one who is Jesus or one who opposes Jesus necessarily. It can actually mean one whose against or withstands Christ. Here is the definition of antichrist.
If we say that the 7th empire, which is the common market, and that the antichrist simply takes it over and rules, we are missing part of it. He rises out of the Middle Eastern Islamic territory. That is the important point to understand. 1 John 2:18 “Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.” 1 John 2:23 “Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.” So we have this relationship with God the Father and Jesus being His Son. 1 John 4:3 “And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.” 2 John 7 “And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.”
The man who will rule for 42 months, who forms the 8th kingdom of Revelation, the antichrist, will be a fanatical Muslim and he will use the weapons of mass destruction. One thing we keep missing is that everyone keeps talking about the antichrist as a man of peace based on Daniel 9:27. “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.” But Revelation 13 says twice, “Who can make war against the beast.” Revelation 13:4 “Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?” Daniel 8:15 says, “…by peace he shall destroy many.” How can that be? Well the Taliban is a good example. If you obey Islamic law, you get what you want, if you disobey, you suffer. When it talks about by peace destroying many, basically it would mean, if you obey Islamic teaching and obey what we are telling you and follow it, you will be fed and taken care of and if not then you will suffer.
In one of these passages, it uses the definite article the, meaning a specific man and not just a spirit of antichrist which has always been here and there have always been people who have denied that Jesus is the Son of God. But here we are given the actual definition in four references. The Antichrist spirit and man will deny that God has a Son named Jesus. That is the big difference between Christians and Muslims, the issue of who Jesus is. Jesus went to His disciples and said, “But whom say ye that I am?” (Matthew 16:15). Verse 14 tells us that others were saying of Jesus, “thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.” But Jesus asked the disciples, “But whom say ye that I am?” And Peter answered in verse 16; “Thou art the (Christos, khris-tos) Christ, (the anointed one) the Son of the living God.”
They say, well how can God have a son? How did I have sons? I have sons because they came through my seed, my son carries my name and my son carries my blood. Jesus Christ came through the virgin birth of Mary and Jesus was the Word of God made flesh, the seed of God, He carried the blood of God because he didn’t have an earthly father and the blood type of the child comes from the father and not the mother, therefore the blood that was in Jesus came through God the Father, just like when God breathed blood into Adam, which means God’s blood and Jesus said “I have glorified His name” and “He has given me a name.” So Jesus Christ had the name of God and Jesus Christ had the blood of God, Jesus Christ had the DNA of God and that’s what makes Him the Son of the living God. I will repeat for clarity. Adam from the Hebrew mans God’s blood. Genesis 2:7 “the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” Leviticus 17:11 “For the life of the flesh is in the blood.” God breathed His blood into that dirt. The first Adam had the pure blood of God, just as the Second Adam, Jesus. Adam didn’t have human parents to give him his blood.
Don’t allow the fact that it is difficult to understand how God could have a son, because it’s all about redemption, about how we are separated from God through the sin of Adam. That we all became separated from God and that God who used to walk in the Garden quit walking in the Garden and the God who used to walk by the tree of life quit walking with Adam at the tree of life and the bridge was broken and God remained in Heaven and man remained on earth. Wither it be Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism or whatever, every religion tries to reach up to God, tries to develop a way to get to God, but true Christianity is the religion where God reaches down to man. Many so-called Christian groups, like the Catholics also do not believe in salvation by faith through grace alone, but by works. So they like all other man made religions are trying to get to God and eternal life by something they do to earn or deserve it. But Jesus came and died and made the way to God the Father and eternal life for all who would accept His sacrifice. So it is not a struggle of “what must I do to get to heaven?” Islamic fanatics will say, “If we blow ourselves up, we will get to paradise.” That is not true. Even the Koran teaches that you should not kill the innocent, they should not kill women and children and old people. But fanatical Islam has taken and twisted and perverted the Koran. But it was Jesus, who said, “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you” (Matthew 5:44). And “unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also” (Luke 6:29).
True Christianity is not a religion of retaliation and hate but a religion of loving your brother. Loving that one created in the image of God. Those who may be from the seed of Ishmael or the seed of Esau need to know that it was Abraham your father that prayed to God, “O that Ishmael might live before thee!” (Genesis 17:18). The Hebrew word for live is also translated save, and be whole. That prayer wasn’t just that God would spare Hagar and Ishmael from starvation in the desert. God spared them and brought a well of water forth and made him a nation with 12 princes. I don’t believe that he prayed that Ishmael would just be saved form the desert and not die, but that he prophetically saw a day when the descendants of Ishmael would understand the covenant relationship that God almighty would one day bring to the earth and wants to have with all mankind. Without Jesus you are separated from God, you are attempting to reach God, doing everything you can to try and find God to guarantee entrance into paradise. But there is good news for you today, Jesus Christ has already built a bridge, the cross is the bridge between heaven and earth and if you can believe on Jesus. You can simply believe that He is who he says he is. If you can believe that he died on the cross, but he didn’t die for Himself, but He died for the sins of the world and he died for you. If you believe that God can resurrect you in the future, why can’t you believer that God raised Jesus from the dead? If you can believe that, that is the gospel. And if you can believe the gospel here in your heart, then you can be saved today and have the promise and hope of eternal life. Islam makes no promise of forgiveness of sin or eternal life.
The whole battle throughout history has been over who the true heir was. Who was the true son of Abraham? Abraham had two sons, Ishmael and Isaac. Who was offered up as a sacrifice on Mount Mariah? The Bible says that Isaac and Abraham went to Mount Mariah; the Muslims say it was Ishmael instead of Isaac because that is the battle, over who it really was. Then you come to Isaac, and he has two sons, Jacob and Esau and they are fighting with one another and Jacob got the birthright and Esau became angry. The struggle was over who was the heir, who gets the blessing. Throughout history the struggle is who is the heir, who is really the true son of Abraham. The struggle today will be over one thing; who was Jesus Christ. Was He just a prophet or a teacher or was he in truth the Son of God. We must stand and declare, no matter how politically incorrect it might be, that only one person died for you. Only one person ever went to the cross for you. And only one person rose from the dead with you on his mind. His name is Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Everything about God’s plan to bring man back to himself could only come through Jesus Christ. Jesus is Lord over all and Lord over this earth. All things were created by Him and for Him and He will determine the end. No matter what we see in this earth, no matter what happens or what it looks like, Jesus is in control and Jesus alone is Lord and Savior. Hallelujah! Jesus is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity.
